Bill Simmons, "The Boston Sports Guy", first gained notoriety as a freelance sports columnist with his own website on AOL. Later, he was added to the roster of ESPN`s "Page 2" columnists and propelled the page and himself to widespread popularity. He was recruited as a writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2003), based on that work.
