Mark Maine was born in La Jolla, California at the old Scripps hospital which was located at 464 Prospect Street, in the "Village" of La Jolla. Maine grew up in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego, CA, and graduated in 1976 from Clairemont High School, which was the inspiration for the 1982 movie, Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982).
