樊尚·勒卡瓦利耶，Vincent was born and raised in Ile Bizard, Quebec, although he currently resides in Montreal during the off-season. He met best friend Brad Richards, a center man for Tampa Bay just like Lecavalier himself, at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, in Saskatchewan, as a teen. Both played for Rimouski of the QMJHL for their junior careers.
