Anneke Villet was born and raised in Johannesburg. Her father, C.M. Villet is a professor in and department head of Applied Mathematics at the University of Johannesburg and her mother, Anna Alida Villet is a mathematics and science teacher. After high school she studied Drama at the University of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape Province.
