John Stobaugh graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994 with such contemporaries as Richard Linklater, Matthew McConaghey and Robert Rodriguez. Shortly afterward he quickly assimilated into the Beverly Hills literary agency Major Clients Agency where he assisted and learned from the respected David McIlvain.
