Greg Vrotsos was born Gregory Nicholas Vrotsos in the Greater Boston town of Norwood, MA. His parents, Vaso, a hairdresser, and Nicholas, a carpenter and pizzeria owner, are from the Peloponesse region of Greece. After graduating from Norwood High School, Greg moved to Southern California.
