A documentary that follows a murder investigation in Moscow from the discovery of the body to the arrest and interrogation of the final suspect. The arrival of Glasnost, (openness), gave - for a brief time - unimaginable access to the institutions of Soviet life as the system began its terminal decline. Officials seemed not to know what could and couldn't be shown and said. In this climate, Kosminsky's First Tuesday team were given permission to follow an investigation by MUR, (the Moscow Murder Police), from discovery of dead body in a sweltering Moscow apartment, to the arrest, interrogation and ultimate video confession of the killer, more than a thousand miles away. It is produced and directed by Peter Kosminsky for Yorkshire Television.
